Elliott vs Marant...

As I begin the count down to spring/summer you'll have to bare with me as I sort through racks, images, and tear sheets of inspiration. Don't get crazy, my look doesn't change that much, but as always, needs a little pick me up to kick things off. The first addition on the list is a pair of camel leopard jeans. I have been comparing the Current Elliott stiletto leopard jeans against the Isabel Marant Etoile wabi jeans and this is what I've found...

Kinda of major and exactly what I want to be wearing with oversized sheer button downs and/or neon poc (pops of color...come on people)! Just when I thought I made my final decision, I spotted a similar pair at the affordable $22 price point, wait for it... at TARGET!

Can't wait for these little beauties to arrive.

Wardrobe Diaries:: Sequin Disco

Last night I met a group of my friends at Desiron in Soho for the opening reception of an art exhibit in their D Gallery. I lent a dress to my roomie to for the event and then realized it was subconsciously exactly what I wanted to wear. I rushed home after work for a quick change and remembered that I had a special pair of pants on loan from a little nugget that needed a disco spin about the city...Not to mention it was the perfect spring weather which meant NO JACKET!!!

Top:: Lela Rose tinsel tank
Belt:: Target black patent wide belt
Pants:: Topshop blue sequin harem pants {borrowed from my little fashionisto Jacob}!
Shoes:: Cynthia Vincent x Target printed wedge sandals {intro here}

First Come First Serve:: Potato--Tomato...

I'm a buy now wear now kind of shopper...I know, this mean I miss out on many of the first come first serve pieces every season. I like to do my research, compare prices, and invest in the items I just "can't live without!" Lets back track a bit--a week or so ago I dreamed of the Dolce Vita Pela wedges in hot pink (here). At $165 they aren't outrageous but I'm always looking for a deal! I made an impromptu run to Target last night and casually strolled by the shoe section. In passing I did a quick double take when I saw this "potato" on the shelf...

Mossimo Pilar Strappy Wedge Sandals:: JACKPOT! With a $29.99 price tag I couldn't pass them up. Especially when their identical twin, aka tomato, would run me 5.5 times the price.

Coco Canal scores another point on a stellar deal. See, good things do come to those who wait!!!

Shoes Got Sole...

My birthday was last Friday, but I'm still receiving gifts from my amazing friends and family.

These arrived in the mail from my mother. I'm going crazy over them! Exactly what I want for my pants party fall wardrobe! In fact I think I might purchase the same pair in grey with silver studs!

Dolce Vita X Target

These sweet kicks arrived courtesy of my bestie, Nate (seen here). He's turned into a bit of a shoe hoarder (in the best way possible!!!!) in the last couple of weeks which obviously benefits me as well! Excited to wear with my LNA lace leggings...to kick start their wearability!

Wardrobe Diaries:: Pseudo Fall...

The first half of this week felt like Fall. Since it's only the end of August and I know better than to believe that I can start packing away sundresses and sandals, I have named it Pseudo Fall... those few days that sneak in to tease you...wet your whistle for layers, and scarves, and jackets OH MY!!!! In my excitement for the changing of seasons, when the opportunity for a jacket presented itself, I hopped on board full throttle. I've had this jacket perched at the front of my closet waiting for the temperature to make a little dip. Tuesday I was in Brooklyn for a couple hours running errands and interviewing a special someone and figured this outfit fit the bill for the day's adventures...

Jacket:: Juicy Couture military inspired jacket w. coat tails (gifted)
Shirt:: H&M Dolman sleeve striped shirt
Pants:: Skinny black men's jeans from Target
Belt:: Vintage elephant belt
Shoes:: Thrifted then DIYed cowboy boots

Necklace:: YesJess knit bow necklace (gifted)

Mid-day I acquired this adorable knit bow necklace, which I've been wearing everyday since. Just so dang cute! I was hoping for one more day of pseudo fall in hopes to wear a leather jacket... Doesn't look like it is necessary but I'll still probably wear it tonight for family style dinner with my friends!

What trends are you looking forward to this fall? Are you ready for fall to be here?!

Summer Wedge Sandals...CHECK

As most of you are well aware I have a very generous, talented, and creative mother. After I brief conversation I had with her this afternoon, I received this pic via a text.

She went to Target today and purchased the Cynthia Vincent for Target wedge sandals. I can not wait to start wearing them about the city. If you're interested in snagging your own pair, hurry to Target stores. Most only received one pair for every size and they aren't available to purchase online.

THANK YOU MOM!!!

***{edit}I can't wait to wear these with my Mandarin lipstick!***

What I Want Now:: Summer Wedge Sandals

It's starting to warm up here in NY and I'm eager for some new foot wear. I treated myself to a pedicure when the weather warmed up and I'm anxious to let my mistreated hooves breathe the fresh air. I'm still stuck on the Jeffery Campbell clogs but thought I should incorporate a vibrant, fun wedge into the mix of things.

I'm in love with these Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges. The multicolor, printed sandal is exactly what I need to add a dose of freshness to my spring/summer wardrobe...and they look relatively comfortable...always a necessity in this city. I'm heading home to Texas for a few days soon and hoping to find a pair in my size (since everything is always picked over in the city). I'm also crossing my fingers for the same print in the flat. A fun alternative to my usual matte slip-ons carried around day to day.

Liberty of London:: Target Pop Up

This afternoon I met my adorable friend Jean Michelle at her Times Square office to frolic down to Target's Liberty of London pop up store. This morning was the first time I heard anything of the store's partnership with the discount store (I've been living under a rock lately). I expected to see sweet, delicate, dainty floral prints, and that's exactly what I got. I was pleasantly surprised with the collection. I'm not one to wear sugary sweet prints and silhouettes but loved the scarves, lingerie, men's button down shirts, ties, and all the quirky house ware accessories. There was a to die for bike that JM and I considered going in on but it wasn't realistic.

The lovable JML waiting in line to get in!

I restrained myself and only purchased 1 thing...What you got in that bag?!

TaDaaaaaaa!!! I purchased this top/tunic/nightie!? A purchase with many purposes! Still warming up to the print that seems to be coming up roses...a little out of my league, but I loved the silhouette. A bit racier than I would normally wear but I couldn't take my eyes off of it.

The back looks like fabric was sewn onto the bottom of a bra...I LOVE IT! After all, this spring season is all about wearing under garments and sleepwear as day wear right?!?!!?

Waiting to get in...anxious!
Jacket: Thrifted Limited Denim Jacket
Dress: Makeshift dress from my roommate's old Express skirt
Belt: Vintage elephant belt... The love of my weardrobe!
Sunnies: Gift from mi madre
Bag: Gryson...on consignment from Becky!!!

JPG:: Target Countdown

{target.com}

Believe it!!!! Jean Paul Gaultier's Target GO collection is just T-15 days from arriving. I'm not even going to pretend to get up early and go to the store, just to sift through the unwanted unmentionables and sloppy seconds. I will be multi-tasking instead, calmly sitting on the computer trying to fill my cart as fast as possible while also coaching my mother in Texas as she shops for my must haves. I'm longing for the cognac leather jacket, but I don't think I can get the nerve to spend $200 on one item at Target. A task that is a little hard for me to swallow. There is a short video posted on the inspiration for the collection at Target. If you want a sneak peek at the entire lookbook head over to Nitrolicious.

Weekend Wars

I spent the last two days 45 minutes north of the city in Bear Mountain. I can survive in nature but I'm definitely not a nature girl by any means. It's hard to get out of the city so it's always a treat to sit in a car, listen to the radio, and indulge in some of suburbia! The culmination of the excursion was a trip to the Palisades Mall, crappy food court meals and discount anchor stores! I darted off into Target to check out the Anna Sui line. The collection is super cute and has some great pieces. I was instantly attracted to this printed tunic. I would wear this exactly how it is styled but throw on my black leather jacket. This is the most obvious way to wear it I'm sure, and totally understandable but I got to thinking and wanted to mix things up a bit. Since the top is sheer I'd wear

*black slip underneath
*pair of black socks worn with my cognac peep toe wedges
*either a cropped black fur vest or slim fit boyfriend blazer.

Such an easy and effortless look!

Hope your weekend was relaxed!
