Yep In My White Jeans...

How smart is this look, and most importantly, how easy?!
Gwyneth-<span class=

I will be channeling this ensemble verbatim for some April/May attire...especially for my flight/trip to Texas in a month. Lets be honest though, I'll recreate with white distressed boyfriend jeans.

Welcome Home...

Typically I stick to all things fashion-related here, but I came across images of perfect home decor and can't stop thinking about them. Before we dive in, I should bring to your attention that I've lived in the same apt for almost two years and still lack a coffee table! Now that we have that confession out of the way lets move on...If/when I own a place in the city, this will be the inspiration.

Maybe I'm still stuck on the neon trend, but who wouldn't want an electric front door...would my roommates be mad if I did this to ours?!
<span class=

Not that I'll ever own a place with this kind of space, but the idea of having a banquet inspired table, neon stools included, just tickles my fancy. I LOVE to cook and having this much room to have everyone over to break bread is what I dream of...for now I'll continue to host and my friends can eat my culinary couture with their plates in their laps!
<span class=

I think this is absolutely hilarious.
<span class=

Here it is, the fashion part of this post. McQueen knuckleduster clutch perched on a shelf between classic literature. Kind of genius--just like McQueen!
<span class=

The creme de la creme!! A crystal & sconce basketball backboard. If I ever have exposed brick in my bedroom this, without a doubt, will be my headboard...or an eye-catching display in my living room. Gorgeous beyond belief--want it, need it, gotta have it!

White Noise....

These images have been sitting on my desktop forever waiting for me to share them with you. Last summer (yes that is how long it has been), I assisted on a shoot for Marie Claire (international issue). I loved the all white ensemble and the hair...I want the hair oh so bad!

Bodies in the Sand...

"Tropical drink melting in your hand"

Although winter has been very mild this year, I'm still itching for blue skies and high temperatures. Wednesday, in the middle of my squawking "I want a tropical vacation" at work, my friend Breanna waltzed into my studio and bid the question, "Do you want to go to Puerto Rico with me?" In less than .005 seconds I zealously replied, "YES!"{duh}. With the generosity of some really great friends/coworkers this is where we will be soaking up the sun and ogling cabana boys--

The Vieques islands.

I'm already envisioning boho looks involving colorful kaftans, head wraps, & layered tribal jewelry.

I'll start by doing some virtual packing for my trip!

Lookie Lookie...

My desktop has a folder strictly dedicated to adept ensembles I come across while exploring the internet. This week, the folder was on overload as I kept swiping one image after another. I quickly picked a few of my faves that couldn't go without some recognition.
Screen shot 2011-12-09 at 2.08.55 AM
Look 1:: Jealousy quickly set in when I saw this look. Blondie is straight killing it. Combining two hot trends (neutral & neon) in perfect proportion and harmony. The length of her coat next to a micro mini--SMART! Love it, gotta have it!

Look 2:: I've had this image of Miroslava Duma on my computer forever and realized I have about five different views of it as well. Sophisticated cool that can translate from work to a night out, as all good outfits should be able to do.

Look 3:: It is hard to grasp the fact that designers are already showing collections for Pre-Fall 2012 and last week the weather was in the mid 60's--what is happening?! Never the less I was clicking through Jenni Kayne's collection and gasped at this full time fancy ensemble. This just might be the outfit I wear to ring in the new year! Unexpected and daring!

Going To The Chapel...

In three weeks I will be heading to my friends, Jess and Tyler's wedding. I can't believe it is already time to send them down the aisle!!! The happy couple is very artistic, intelligent, and all around lovely, so when it came time to think about what to wear I knew I could think outside the box.

*1:: I saw these Tom Binns earrings and fell in love. A DIY project is definitely in order.

*2:: A little cliche but a "love bird" necklace is delicate and sweet to counter balance the earrings--my dress needs some kind of neck adornment and this is subtle enough.

*3:: My mom always tells me I look better with my hair pulled back and this is my compromise. I love the casualness of the style and the fact that it will highlight the statement earrings.

*4:: I adore the three gowns from Tory Burch's S/S 2012 collection. I sent this image to my mother and she has recreated, with alterations to the design, the dress in an incredible purple-burgundy color.

*5:: Because you always have to have options (more is more is more is more and never enough!) especially for all the events surrounding the festivities, I'm having my mom make a hybrid of this dress and the previous dress.

*A not so edited pantone color strip to help inspire my wedding day blissful ensemble.

Jess & Tyler= ❤

Can't wait to show you pictures from the big day soon! And check back tomorrow to see which of my friends fall looks we are decoding!

Yes Please...

Just a quick look at what has been living on my desktop the last couple of days.

Officially obsessed with this tiny skill ring, perfect for everyday wear.

I'm a little embarrassed to want this denim skirt as bad as I do--resurrection of the late 90's jeans into a denim skirt. I'm imagining it paired with, you guessed it, Marant wedge sneakers!

I adore this image...long hair, bare skin, and fur! What could be better?!

Double plaid all the way across the sky= GENIUS, a definite fall must.

One of the coolest closets I've seen in a while. The rack is molded from a tree branch. One day my clothes will get to live in this lap of luxury!

Pedal Pusher...

I'm fortunate to work with a motely crue of talented artists that have evolved into my incredibly inappropriate, hilarious, and dysfunctional family! One of my dearly beloveds from the office is Jacob. We met last November (he was working at Vogue China and I was an assistant stylist for one of their shoots). When I caught his gaze through those lilac glasses between rolling racks, I knew this would be a friendship that would last longer than the 2010 Copenhagen catwalk. Yesterday I was doing my daily Internet scavenger hunt and swiped this image of a beautiful color blocked beetle.
{images from Fashion Squad}

When my little peach strutted into the office today, his ensemble immediately reminded me of the perfectly perched critter sitting on my desktop. Post work I went satorialist on his color blocked ass.

If you haven't figured it out, J is an expert when it comes to a block party. To keep up with more of his outfits, inspiration, and witty banter, visit his blog, JCup, here.

Jean-eology...

By now you are fully informed of me deep devotion to harem pants, especially one in the denim family. As the temperatures in NYC continue to climb I have been debating on when is the proper time to safely store them for the return of fall. However, after stumbling upon this image a few nights ago I'm just not ready to say farewell.

Either the best harems I have ever seen or I need to raid Salt n Pepa's closets for their 90's wide leg baggy jeans.

You Puzzle Like A Jigsaw...

Friday night a couple of the ladies met me in Park Slope for a low key shoot. I wanted the set to be fun and welcoming...after all this was just a test. The girls (Des, Chinae, and Rachel) arrived with their own wardrobe for me to style with and I provided an abundance of accessories. So here you go... a quick peek into the shoot that took place in a Park Slope studio with lots of aluminum foil!

Dark and Stormy...

I'm working on a project later this week and quickly put together a mood board for what I had in mind for make up...You'll soon notice that these are all images from Tyra's America's Next Top Model (I admit that shamefully)!

Check back soon to see what this inspires!

Mermaid Melody...

Linda Rodin is a woman who wears many hats! She was a model in the 60's, beauty and fashion entrepreneur (opened one of the first boutiques in Soho and has a beauty line Olio Lusso), an editor at Harper's Bazaar, and a freelance fashion stylist. A recent glimpse into the collector's Chelsea home proved that hoarding can be tasteful, inspiring, and story telling. As you explore each room you can see the well thought out placement of each book, shell, trinket. A beautiful expression of passion and experiences, dive into an intimate perspective Rodin's adobe.

The seasoned fashionista keeps her look casual and cool pairing skinny jeans with bold socks and leather high tops. I want to be this chic when I'm sixty years old.

Robert Longo:: Groove Is In The Heart...

Last week I was introduced to the American painter and sculptor Robert Longo. I can't seem to get enough of his series, Men In The Cities (1979). The way he has captured movement and emotion is beyond!

These images are from some of his most recent work inspired by the 1979 series, A/W 2010 ad campaign for Bottega Veneta

Day Dream Believer...

I believe the saying goes, "dream in color!..." As my roommates would note, I dream in technicolor. Our morning routine goes something like this...Me bursting through my bedroom door expounding, "I had the craziest/weirdest/most amazing dream last night!" I LOVE sleep, but what I love most are the dreams. I can recount every detail, sense, emotion, all of it. Sometimes I think it is a bit strange, but I've been like this for as long as I can remember. Saturday morning snuggled on the couch with my roommates watching the Time Warner guy install cable and internet for us I recited my newest night vision. The dream itself was hilarious and completely unrealistic (aka hanging out with Kourtney & Kim Kardashian at the Grove in LA) but my outfit in the dream was summer time perfection. As the story telling concluded one of my roommates noted, "Wow, you even dream in outfits!" For the rest of the day I kept thinking of the ensemble and how much I wanted it to inexplicably teleport into my closet. I took the liberty of making some small adjustments to the outfit (grey ant instead of ray bans and burberry instead of an acid washed version) but you'll get the basis for where my subconscious was going.

The look isn't a departure from what I would normally wear, but the florescent color combination definitely is--so very LA of me! If only the weather here would warm up enough to start leaving the house sans tights and sleeves.

Only You Can Make You Happy...

Absolutely had to include this today when I'm all about inspiration. I don't know what it is exactly about this video, but I really like it!

Monday Funday...

A little inspiration to get your week started!!!!

Stunning...

Catherine Baba...Always glorious and painlessly chic!

Obsessing over this bow tie. Do I foresee an upcoming DIY project?!

Back in October I styled a test shoot with some friends up in Garrison, NY. Last week one of the photographers released some B roll from the day shoot, and on Wednesday the video was posted on Fstopper's Wednesday Rundown. Click here to see the video (titled Heavy + Lite).
