Summer's Best...

I spotted this image on Elle's street chic page and thought, that's exactly how one should dress for the torturous summer heat. Bold colors, mixed prints, airy silhouette...the ensemble's sum is greater than its parts! A well edited mix of colors with that iconic Jill Sanders bag, makes me sweat this heat a little less!

The More The Merrier...

I absolutely love this editorial (check out the complete spread HERE). As I'm thinking about my Spring/Summer wardrobe this dress with coordinating bag proves that being a maximalist is divinely chic. I'm not usually one to coordinate my accessories so literally but this really works for me!

About A Boy...

I've fully embraced the leopard trend...well I embraced is back in junior high when I had my mom turn my room into an animal print jungle! I've never met an animal print that I didn't like...but this is about a boy.

I found this image, an oh so chic homme, and found myself starring at the computer screen for a few minutes. Studying the silhouette, neutral and minimal color palette, and THE SHOES. I love that even the gents are indulging in the feline frenzy!

What I Want Now:: Elle Street Style...

One of the best parts about living in New York is the people watching. It's unlike any other city...This weekend I'm going to the beach and a Mets/Twins game so I'm excited for my people watching opportunities. In the spirit of it all, I was clicking through various sites and blogs to find some inspiration for my weekend attire.

I'm usually the first to nay-say a pair of cargo shorts/pants but lately I'm beginning to eat my words. The updated silhouette I've been seeing around is totally appealing! Slim through the leg, often cropped, and bye bye bulky pockets. The more I see them around, the more I've begun to covet my own pair. It's a battle... I vetoed double denim and now it's part of my weekly wardrobe rotation. I have to stand firm in something...Oh who am I kidding, once I find the perfect pair I'll be donning them just as frequently as double denim. And I think a pair in army green is just as versatile as it is classic... a summer trend that translates into fall and is quickly becoming a wardrobe must have!

I'm a sucker for anything that sparkles so a large portion of my closet has been transformed by sequins. I saw this sequin romper in the current issue of Elle and squealed! Desperate to own it, but even more compelled to wear my denim jacket with a sequin dress for a birthday bash I'm attending tonight. The weather has cooled off just enough to make the pairing somewhat bearable!...we shall see!

Kate the Great...

By now you are well aware of my love, respect, and admiration for Kate Lanphear. Not only is she the epitome of style but she has a vision and point of view that is inspiring and encouraging. I was sheltering myself from the rain this weekend and camped out at a friend's apartment with a stack of magazines, playlist of movies, and Peruvian food. I was paging through the most recent issue of Elle Magazine when I came across a spread called Anything but Ordinary. I looked at the first image and knew instantly who had styled the feature. I'm obsessed with the images and pairings. The feature is styled literally from head to toe (those blond ringlets)! I took some shoddy pictures with my phone so please excuse the quality.

I've been trying to talk my mother into making me khaki cape/trench hybrid like this forever. I love it!!!! Perfect for chillier spring weather.

In love with this look. Leather skirt that has the tail of a white button down peeking out at the bottom. How adorable!!!

There is my fox tail again! So glad that I have my very own to work with!

I don't think I've seen a fanny pack look this stylish ever!!! This image is all about reworking the way you wear basic items..sideways and around the neck/shoulders, DUH!!!!

So jealous of my friend that has a meeting with Kate tomorrow...but can't wait to hear details of how lovely she is!!!!
