I'm still trying to adjust to the fact that Becky is living in London for the next two years. She was my fashion police partner, and having my other half across the pond is proving to be quite the transition. However, there are a few upsides to her relocation. I talked to Becky today and she introduced me to a new brand that is becoming one of the fastest growing retailers in the UK and is using their European presence to expand into the US...And I'm welcoming them with open arms! The lines is a little reminiscent of Diesel, but it's not as distressed, battered, and beaten. Just really great shapes and silhouettes that are designed around structure, quality, and versatility.

Introducing ALLSAINTS CLOTHING

I'm not one to wear a suit. I fought college professors on career day proclaiming that I would never work at an office where I had to wear one. While I still stand firm in my proclamation, this is the perfect twist on a suit that is worth considering.

The combination of these jeans and boots just gets me. The best form of relaxed jeans in such a casual, didn't give it a second thought type of way. Never before have I advocated for double denim but it's not half bad here. Such a cool look!

The men's line is equally as chic and edgy.

For some reason I'm loving this more than any of the others. It reminds me of my stylish friend Zon over at Helmut Lang. The dark color palette, leather mixed with denim, and harem pants. Just so unbelievably cool! I'm at a loss for words! love love love!

Chiffon Long Gone

Oh the days of chiffon wearing are long gone with the sudden appearance of winter. However the spring collections give me hope for the bright sunny days of spring/summer that will eventually...eventually come. I was going through my spring folder pulls and came across these two great Chloe dresses.

Sans the caplet and this dress is all me.

Crazy for this dress... styling it with the right accessories, a great pair of earrings, gold men's watch, and a sexy pair of espadrilles. I would go skipping through the flea market streets!

I'll be tucking these away so that they can hibernate and come back out refreshed with the sun and heat!

Sample Sale Season

Some people get excited about wedding season, others are excited for the fall season, I get excited for sample sale season!!!!!! I tend to be a buy now-where now kind of shopper so sample sales work out perfectly for me. What good are fall clothes purchased in June/July? I can't wear them then, they sit and take up too much of my already limited closet space, and most importantly taunt me that I'm sweating in the subway, my make up is melting off, and I'm still ions away from the crisp fall weather. The first of sample sales have been posted so now I'm attempting to prioritize and schedule my sale attendance accordingly!

You're going to want to check out the closet clean out happening at Digby & Iona. Becky purchased this 13 point deer ring this summer and I don't think it has left her finger since. The company designs with a sharp wit and innate sense of humor while still executing their philosophy of quality, character, and individuality. Rubie Green at Calypso Home

Last night I went to an event for my friend Michelle who is a fellow blogger, entrepreneur, and badass! Michelle started her own organic upholstery company, Rubie Green, over a year ago that has taken off. The event last night was so much fun. I was able to catch up with some old friends and see more of how Michelle is expanding her company. So excited to see all the good things that are going to come to her. Hopefully I'll come across a few pics from the event to post!

Model Moment: Dree Hemingway

Looking through all of the Spring shows the last couple of weeks some new and old models have been standing out to me. One thought caught my attention is Elite model, Dree Hemingway who's pedigree is pure... Her grandfather is Ernest and mom is Mariel.

Ballerina turned model keeps her style casual and simple. She focuses on interesting pieces and plays them up by pairing with unexpected counterparts. She's not doing anything revolutionary, nothing out of the box, just clean, streamlined, and inadvertently obvious. It's refreshing to see someone put together looks that don't require a lot of thought. Dree seems too just go with what she feels... How can you not love that!? Someone that gets in right with what appears to be little effort!

Hair Guru

Whenever I feel stressed, overwhelmed, frustrated, irritated, aggravated I want to change up my hair style. I've always been this way, I get bored and need a quick fix! So after an overwhelming week of trying to get my apartment situated, I decided it was about time to go see my hair guru! Took myself down to the Flat Iron district to see the one and only Sidney! One of my favorite people in the city. I've said it before, I am totally convinced that she knows me better than a lot of people do and often more than I know myself.


I walked into the salon today and about died when I saw her hair. The left side is partially shaved, then she has an angled bob (angles on the right side, shorter in the front and back) with blue highlights/streaks going throughout it all. GENIUS!!!

I can come in with an idea or inspiration and she blows it out of the water. Of course today's inspiration was Rihanna and of course Sidney gave it her very own twist... Wouldn't have it any other way. The last time I had a hair cut was mid July and I was terrified at how much it has grown since then. My favorite part of my hair cut is the Mohawk in the back. When I first chopped all my hair off it was a special touch that Sidney threw in there. She decided to keep all the length on it (LOVE IT) put make it more prominent in the back. Kept the length on the top too so I still have options and can play with it.

Stuntman Style: Victor Paguia

The last couple of weeks I've been doing some personal shopping for my friend and neighbor Victor. He has quickly become one of my favorite shopping partners and clients because he's always up for anything and willing to experiment with his style. Today I pulled together three quick looks and took my turn behind the camera.

Who doesn't love a man in a cardigan?! I think Becky and I talked Victor into this purchase a while back. It's a great layering piece and a great alternative to a jacket when it's just cool enough to need a little coverage. Everyone should have a pair of raw denim jeans in their arsenal. They mold to your body like a second skin and develop character unique to each individual. The boots were a purchase V made on his own and I love them! He wore them around for a while and let them develop some added character and charisma before water proofing them for the winter. Smart!

Vic was definitely a little weary of the tie with the jacket and boots but I love the combo. Yes it might be a bit on the literal side of the military trend right now, but it is a departure from what he would normally choose to wear and that was the appeal. Push him just over the threshold of his comfort zone but still being relevant to who he is. After looking at this picture I've realized that much of the styling and look is inspired by Dsquared (you already know how I feel about the Canten brothers) and Coldplay... oh my subconscious! I think this would be a perfectly appropriate date ensemble for his trip to Paris!

This is definitely Victor's everyday, go to look. I'm all for guys tucking jeans into boots right now and this opportunity was no exception. Last week Victor and I were shopping in Bloomingdales in Soho and stumbled upon these grey slim fit jeans by Corpus. The reason for the trip to Bloomies was actually to find a pair of boots and did we ever! 1930's military inspired boots just screamed for us to buy them. We didn't jump the gun, spent the day checking out our options, but when it came to it, nothing compared to the style, quality, or appeal of the Officine Creative boots. I'll have to post a close up of them cause the details are exquisite. The coat was another lucky happenstance purchase at H&M. It easily incorporates with so many things in his wardrobe but what I love most is it isn't just a boring black coat. It's actually navy and has great military inspired details to it. It won't be hard for him to replicate a similar look. This makes for a great template and base to mix and match with other things in his closet.

"Give a man a fish and he has food for one day. Teach a man to fish and...!" You get where I'm going with this!
